Tutorial - How to Blend Images

Hi there! Natsuhime (from Photokicho and deviantart) here, I was recruited months ago but have been too - *cough* - busy to post (I deeply apologize to illusioNATION for my inactivity). Well I'm free now, and under request, I am posting a tutorial for you all.
Be happy ~

SIMPLE BLENDING

This tutorial was made with purpose of use of Photokicho, and has been posted here under request. Please do not copy it anywhere else :D

This tutorial uses Adobe Photoshop. It's simple blending so it should work
with all versions.

Step 1.

Select a background and stock photo.

The stock image is just a car. I'm getting yelled at for being
biased and only making girl images... but I don't know squat about cars, so
don't blame me if this is a good/bad car. It was just a random googled image.

If you want to use the same image as me, just click on the image,

it'll give you the image to it's full size.

Step 2.

OK, take the image of your car and go to Layer>Duplicate
Layer and set the document as the signature background.

You should now have this oversized car in your background. Press the maximize box in the corner so that the image takes up the whole screen.

Now, what you do is hit Ctrl+T (or Edit>Transform>Free Transform), and hold
shift, grab onto one of the corner boxes and resize the car to the size
you want, and move it into position.
Click on the image for the enlargement.

Step 3.

Okay, now to blending. Hit enter, to confirm the transformation. Click

on the lasso tool ,
and set feather to around 15px.

Trace around the general shape of the car. Hit Ctrl+Shift+I or Select>Inverse.

Now hit delete. You can press delete as many times, until you get the fading
of your choice. I hit delete 3 times. Now hit Ctrl+D or Select>Deselect.

Step 4.

Okay, what Im gonna do now is change the colour of the car to match with
the image. You do this by going Ctrl+U or Image>Adjustments>Hue/Saturation.
Tick the colorize box to change the colour. This is the settings I used,
and the result.

Step 5.

Okay! Now we're done, and you can just add a heading or something. Thisis what i finished with. It took about 3 minutes all up.

And there you go! My first post here... I hope it helped you guys out a bit - you'll hear from me again soon!

Authorization of Blogskins competitions

I have noticed the current surge of competitions recently. Therefore I approached illusioNATION representing Blogskins Times to control the situation.

We will be starting something called Blogskins Times Sanctioned Contests.

Advantages of sanctioning your contests with us:
-- The 99% chance that your contest will be a success.
-- Assured that no other contests will be held at the same time.
-- Will be advertised on out Blogskins Times site.
-- Participants will be assured that their efforts will not be wasted on a contest which the host has given up on.

Of course, all contests to be sanctioned, must also be approved by us.

Eligiblity of starters:
-- Account has to be around for at least 2 weeks.
-- Have a proper email which is checked everyday.
-- Have a blogger account.

To sanction your competition, approach illusioNATION at illusionskeeper@gmail.com

How to know if the contest you are joining is sanctioned?
A banner will be put up with the blogskinstimes logo and the contest name on the banner.

HELLO HELLO HELLO HELLO HELLO! Another update from me! -winks-
There's not much news in Blogskins, that exactly needs my update, just that Blogskins is getting kinda boring, don't you agree? Skin quality dropping, SOTD quality dropping too, and so on.
WELL, there's something new for you to ponder about.

Since it was such a pity that you couldn't turn up for the November's Blogskins Outing, there's a chance for you next year! During next year's March Holidays, there is going to be one more Blogskins Outing.
Nothing is much organized yet, so give us your opinions, and stuffs you would like to play, or so on our Blogskins Times' tagboard. (: .. Our games on this outing was these 2, E.G:

1) This first one was funny LOL. We have to wait for Xiao Ping to tell us a number. When she says 5, we have to form groups of 5, all the different people -as in the LEKs also have to be seperated. If you're on close term with a particular someone, let's say LEKs (their good examples!), and you're grouped, then you have to do 10 jumping frogs or was it 10 jackass? or do 10 pushups. Main point is to group with new people and not FACES which you've often seen. :D The LEKs, Javier, and Huien kept getting kenna the jumping frog/jackass. Damnit I keep forgetting what's the name of it..

2) This one was rather weird, you have to form a circle, and remember everyone's face and name. Then, we will start from the first person of the circle, and we must say everyone's name continuously and try, without stopping. The best so far was Javier and Anne, I think? :P

We stopped for games after that, and it was chit chat, and Adrian, Kelvin and Leslie to start the fire, so GUYS, think of a good game to play, and post it up on the tagboard! Xiaoping (most probably) would see them, and might consider!

I dunno if 'Lao ying zhua xiao ji (Eagle catch chicks)' game might be good? Or iceman, LOL boy that was a great fun in those Primary school days XD .. or the same common catching? We definately can't accept Hide-And-Seek. Hiding place is limited XD ..

Well keep thinking! :) Pitch in great ideas, and you might have a chance to go for that great Outing!

I owe $10 to Xiaoping, $10 to Eric, and $4 to Kelvin. Zomg X.X next outing would be payday for me ..
